WE ARE LOOKING FOR

... a Team Lead Backend Development Java (m/f/d) remote. You will organize and develop a team of 4 (and growing) backend developers building a distributed and highly scalable Java application composed of multiple services serving millions of requests per day.
As a strong leader with expertise leading a team of developers working on complex technical challenges, you both develop new features as well as support the continuous advancement of processes and tooling inside your own team.

  • 1. TEAM LEADERSHIP:
    You take responsibility for the growth and development of your team and help everyone around you get better every day. In doing so, you provide sound, thoughtful advice that is not self-serving and reflects an understanding of each team member's strengths, skills, and aspirations.
  • 2. STRATEGY:
    Working closely with your colleagues in Product Management, you create requirements analysis to find pragmatic and lean solutions for user stories and epics. In addition, you create the architecture design, the TDD setup and are responsible for the implementation of the solution together with your team.
  • 3.PROCESS OPTIMIZATION:
    Continuously improve the quality, reliability and performance of our core services and components. You are very LEAN and work iteratively and wholeheartedly in continuous shipping.
  • 4.QUESTIONNING THE STATUS QUO:
    You question everything we do - we look forward to being challenged and learning from your past experiences.
    Optionally, you'll get the chance to work on the vueJS front-end as well - not required, but could be a change of pace now and then.

THIS IS WHAT YOU BRING ALONG

  • Strong educational background.
  • You have 3+ years of professional experience with proven track record in delivering highly scalable and robust backend systems.
  • You have experience in Java development. Nice-to-have: experience in SpringBoot, Java Enterprise or Micronaut.
  • You have gained first experiences in leading and growing a developer team.
  • You are experienced in building and supporting systems on AWS and/or GCP?! Great!
  • You have supported a live service environment before?! Even more awesome!
  • You like to discuss big architecture decisions together as a team before starting the implementation and don't mind a little pairing every now and then.
  • Strong communication skills in English round out your profile.
